The growth of a entrepreneur expert : Sean Evans Carlsbad, California: Sean Evans grew up visiting his family cattle ranch every Thanksgiving. That same ranch is now the location of his family winery. The values and closeness of Sean’s early Thanksgivings with family translated to the founding of My Wine Society. The community life that was important to Sean’s upbringing is noticeable in many of the social features of the My Wine Society app. Sean’s creativity and ability to connect with people extends into the MWS Loyalty Club, a monthly subscription box that sends members wine and gifts in a themed box every month. Q: What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months? My Wine Society is a fun company. We provide people with wine and wine accessories. It is difficult to have a tough time. The toughest decisions I have to make for MWS are related to budgets, employees, and wine. The decisions aren’t tough when you act decisively. What do you think it is that makes you successful? My success is found in the ability to learn from my mistakes. Successful entrepreneurs will tell you that mistakes are easy to come by. You will hear that people love to point the mistakes out when you make them. I try to take note of where the mistake was made and adjust (or adapt) so I never make the same mistake twice.
Q: What has been your most satisfying moment in business? Every time that I start or sell a business it reminds me of the time I started and sold my first business. It’s an exhilaration to conduct the sale of a business. The experience of the sale/start-up is just as satisfying each time. What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about? For years, I would try and second-guess the business — thinking it was going this way or that — but I’ve grown to work with the present flow a lot more. People will always try and tell you what your business is and only your gut knows what you really want it to be. Can you share 3 of the best words of advice you’ve gotten along your journey? Please give a story or example for each. Everyone is either going into a crazy time in their business, coming out of a crazy time or they’re in a crazy time. No matter which part of the storm you’re in it will come and it will pass. It’s important to keep a level head and just keep pushing forward. I’ve never closed one of my companies, even in the worst of times. You’ll always find a way back into the light and be successful as long as you keep moving forward!
An interactive training/learning platform requires employees to respond to what they are learning. This forces them to integrate the learning content with their own unique way of thinking as they stop to reflect on the answer they should give or the path they should choose. Once the choice is made, the learner receives feedback to help them recognize what they know versus what they should know. At the same time, interactive software gives trainers the ability to assess the performance of individual learners spontaneously, and in real time. As an employee moves through the learning process, immediate feedback reinforces what they have learned and helps to steer them toward making better choices without compelling them to do so, as is often the case with traditional training and learning techniques.
Meet Sean Evans and some of his business entrepreneurship achievements: The nature of the Middle East family office induces secrecy (many don’t even have a website), which makes it nearly impossible to blast off unsolicited pitches. So it really does come down to networking. But in the end, being able to break through and figure out a way to connect with the right family office can act as a natural selection process and indicate the hallmark of a good entrepreneur and good deal. Another great place to start is identifying other entrepreneurs who have been successful in your specific space and may currently have a family office or more formal startup investment program. Most often, your ideas will resonate with these folks first and best. There’s no doubt that the slowdown in venture investment is impacting companies across industries, COVID being the main driver. But entrepreneurs who open their eyes to non-traditional sources of capital and are willing to put in the legwork to identify them may find an enduring friend in the family.

You open a company in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) to provide services overseas. You also establish your company’s management in another country to make it not a BVI-resident for tax purposes. These will ensure no corporate tax will be paid in this jurisdiction. And since BVI has a fair reputation, you can open a corporate bank account in Singapore. This will allow your company to receive money from customers with ease. If necessary, you then need to establish your tax residency in another country where you can receive your business money without being taxed.
