When we couldn’t fit the Savage into the X-ray or Whiskey-3 Chassis, we went back to the drawing board and came up with a unique Savage Chassis design that fits all of our design criteria. Keeping with the theme of lightweight and ergonomic, the 180-Alpha, at 3.5lbs, is one of the very few chassis under 4lbs (one other being our X-ray). Despite the low weight, it keeps all the important ergonomic features as well as mounting options for slings, night vision mounts, and other accessories. Like all of our chassis, it accepts AICS magazines (not included) right out of the box with no bottom metal purchase needed, and it has the tried and true V-bedding system cut into the aluminum backbone.
The Whiskey-3 Chassis (W3C) (new Generation 6 starting Jan 2018) is one of the premier chassis available for your bolt action precision rifle. The W3C combines precise aluminum bedding with tool-less adjustments, durability, and excellent ergonomics. Right out of the box it allows the use of AICS style magazines (not included) in your rifle without any special bottom metal. Numerous types of accessories can be added to the many attachment points, including handstops, sling mounts, rails, bipods, monopods, and more. Our modular grip panels allow the shooter to tailor the fit of the stock to his/her hand which, combined with the other adjustments, yield a stock set up exactly as it needs to be for that particular shooter. The Tikka inlet accepts T3, T3x, and CTR versions, however slight mods may be required on the trigger-guard for the T3 TAC A1 to function properly. Tikka rifles accept AICS pattern mags with the exception of the Magpul AICS polymer mags. All of our chassis take AICS magazines with nothing extra needed, the magazine is not included. Remington 700 long action chassis take 3.850″ (CIP) length AICS pattern magazines or 3.715″ AICS mags with included spacer. Remington 700 long action chassis come standard with a Whiskey-3 style Forend. Actions with trigger hangers will not work without mods to the chassis, hanger, or both. Today, company members have been responsible for three small arms designs, parts of a fourth, and a few accessory items unrelated to KRG. The first rifle was a modular straight-pull bolt action rifle called the Ballista, the design of which was purchased by an outside company. The second was the Magpul Massoud .308 semi-auto rifle (and parts of the Magpul Masada/Remington ACR, completed by KRG’s lead designer while he was working for Magpul. The other rifle is an evolutionary step for semi-autos that combines all the best features of gas guns produced to date in a nice 5.56 sized platform. This has been shelved for now as we concentrate on our main interest which is precision bolt guns and gas guns.
