Some tips to correctly play with the inflatable paddle board. Abrasive elements like dirt, salt, and sand, can cause undue wear and tear to your SUP. Use the comfy carry handles or a handy shoulder strap to carry your SUP at all times. It shouldn’t be dragged through the parking lot or even over sand when in use. Built up grit that’s left on your board can also cause damage to the valve or the PVC material your board is made of when it’s rolled and stored. If you store your board wet, mildew and bacteria can make for unpleasant smells and gradually eat away at your board too.
The first thing most people will ask when it’s time to buy an inflatable SUP, is what is the difference between an inflatable SUP and a hardboard? Hardboards are made from carbon fibre, fibreglass or polyurethane. They are hard, slightly heavier than the average inflatable SUP and generally more expensive too. They are more difficult to transport, as most require roof racks or a truck to transport. They can be faster through the water due to their stiffness, but this is something that is changing fast with the new generation of inflatable SUP. Hardboards will need a cover, especially when you are travelling, as they can be damaged.
Sun and fresh air: There’s a lot to be said for simply being out in the fresh air. The air around water, particularly the sea, is a lot fresher than it is in towns and cities, so you immediately feel the benefit of being out on your SUP. Fresher air is good for your heart, lungs and your immune system. It also gives you a bit of a feel good kick too. That’s not all you get from being outside. The sun is a natural source of vitamin D, and with modern hectic lifestyles, this is becoming increasingly important. Being stuck in an office all day, then going home in the dark, you won’t get the benefit of much sunlight. Without Vitamin D you will feel tired, you will be more susceptible to muscle aches and pains and it can even cause depression.
Universal Fin Box: The inflatable stand up paddle board boasts a US fin box that is compatible with most aftermarket fins, including 10” race fins, which means you can change the stock fins if you feel like getting a new experience. Heavy Duty Leash and Carrying Bag Included: Our inflatable stand-up paddle board comes with a reinforced leash to keep you safe if you ever fall out into the water, plus a carrying bag to ease transport. Quick Inflation: Inflatable with a manual hand pump in 10 minutes to 15 psi max.
An extra inflatable stand up paddle board advice: To non surfers or regular water goers, it is not immediately obvious which end is the front/nose of the board. Many beginner boards are large round nose and tail boards with excellent stability, often a large EVA deck area so you can move (and fall) comfortably. So before you jump on the board, check where the fins are and make sure they are in the back when you paddle! Fins at the back help keep the board straight while you paddle, this is called tracking, and help with grip while you surf waves. Fins up front make for a very twitchy paddle board that just won’t go straight no matter how hard you try!
